St Mary’s Church Restoration Fund

Dear reader,

As you are no doubt aware, we have been planning to conduct restoration works at St. Mary’s church in Headford for some time. You will have heard me speak about this on many occasions in the past. The main aim of the restoration works is to greatly improve the level of comfort for churchgoers while also saving on the heating bill. A number of projects will be undertaken to improve the heating and insulation of the church with the most pressing and now urgent requirement to repair the roof, part of which has fallen down in recent times. This is now an urgent health and safety issue. We have been quietly raising funds for the church restoration through offertory collections and various fundraising activities such as our calendar, Christmas and Easter cards. In order to move forward with this project we will require much additional funds and a fundraising committee has been formed made up of members of the pastoral council and finance committee.

We are launching a major fundraising prize draw to raise the additional funds we require There are many prizes on offer, over thirty in total with the first prize of a brand new Skoda Fabia car! The tickets are priced at €10 each with 3 for €20 and the book of 15 tickets for €100. We have also printed books of tickets which are available from the Parish office.

All tickets sold, both physical tickets and digital tickets sold online will be entered into the prize draw. The draw will take place on Saturday, 30th October this year. The fundraising committee would like to thank all our prize sponsors, their support is greatly appreciated.

Your ticket purchases will help us to greatly improve the heating and comfort of the church for the benefit of our community and a ensure a warm welcome for visitors to the parish! Your support is deeply appreciated. If you would like more tickets or to get involved or help with the fundraising activities or have any other questions, please contact us at 093 35448 or by email to [email protected].

Many thanks in advance for your contribution.

Yours sincerely,

Fr Ray
